2-Person Teams. All four golfers will hit a tee shot on every hole. Teammates will then elect which one of their two balls came to rest in the best location, which will be hit next. The golfer who has hit it there will let her teammate hit the second shot and they will alternate as such until their one ball is holed out.
After each hole, the best scores of both teams are compared and the team with the lowest score is said to have won the hole. The same thing occurs for every hole until the match ends.

Individual or Team format which can be played with any size group. The player who has the lowest score (untied) on a hole wins a skin. The Skins game can be played with carryovers. If no skins are won on a hole then they can be added (carryover) to the next hole.
The point value of each skin is determined before the round.

Four balls is when a pair of golfers form a team and whichever of the pair makes the better score on each hole counts as the team score for that hole.
The format can be used in strokeplay or matchplay such as in the Ryder Cup or Solheim Cup.
If one player cannot better the score of their partner then he or she need not hole out.
A player’s lowest score for each hole is calculated over the entire season to arrive at a year end eclectic score. Teams can also compare their scorecards for each round and select the lowest score for each hole. That’s their eclectic score.

4-Person team. In Lone Ranger, two scores per hole are added together for the team score. Here’s the catch: One of those two scores must be from the Lone Ranger. So on each hole, the team score will be the score of the player designated the Lone Ranger, plus the lowest score of one of the other three players on the team.
