Originally, I worked as an Accountant; a CPA. I graduated from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. I chose this profession as it was a guaranteed job at any time, anywhere, at any age. The organization and structure was easy and comforting, but not very creative.
After my children were old enough to drive, i went back to school at Diablo Valley College for a new profession that is a bit more creative; Digital Media and Computer Programming.
One of the requirements for an Associate Degree at DVC is a physical education class. I took beginning golf and was immediately hooked. A whole new world opened up. I now play as many times a week as I can.
I am a member of a few golf clubs where I volunteer my skills in accounting, digital media and programming.
The pandemic changed the way golf clubs do everything. They had to move away from paper checks, paper scorecards and paper sign-up sheets. They have embraced digital solutions and online programs.
It is my goal to empower my fellow club members to continue with the digital systems that have been successfully put into place. Since most of us are visual leaners, I have created tutorial videos.
I hope they make a difference.
